Inspector Wing is the best policeman in Hong Kong, but
when his squad is decimated by the Gang of Five, a group of young
criminals that sadistically kills policemen for fun, he is thrown into
the depths of desperation and alcoholism. Frank, a homeless youth who
dreams of becoming a policemen, pretends to be his colleague and helps
him regain faith in himself. Wing gets even with the gang, which is led
by blood-thirsty Joe.
"I hope the audience will acknowledge the fact that it's the acting that
makes San ging chaat goo si a winner rather than the dangerous high
jinks. Journalists have been asking me all the time what breakthrough
the film will bring in the action scenes or how dangerous the latest
stunts will be. I believe, however, that all the action can work only
with credible storylines and good acting." (Benny Chan)
