In 1998, the Luxembourg steel company Arbed found about
30 relatively well-preserved nitrate reels. Most of the material came
from a film entitled Columeta, made by Arbed in 1921. At the time, Arbed
had bought out several metallurgical companies and become a veritable
multi-national enterprise. In order to open up new markets, it opened up
in 1920 a commercial outlet called Columeta, which decided, one year
later, to produce a film about the company's factories, activities and
products, as part of a vast advertising campaign.
