In the triad world the only possibility for a girl can earn respect is become ah sou - the big boss' wife. The film tells the extraordinary story of an innocent 16-year old girl who becomes appointed successor to Hong Kong's ruling triad. She is sucked into a maelstrom of vicious gang wars, hair-raising assassination attempts and ruthless power struggles and betrayals. But she discovers her own inner strength and re-writes the laws of the triad kingdom.

"In the gangster world, ah sou is the gangster boss' woman who likewise enjoys powerful and respectable status. We have a story with two women and a group of monks. Two women, one young and one not-so-young; one harmless and one ferocious. Both are trying to struggle against fate but are drawn inevitably into the maelstrom of jiang-hu. Wong Ching Po

Wong Ching-Po worked as assistant director at television company and later became director in music video, advertisement and special features of film. He has founded his own production company. Without formal training, he has participated in visual art-related production. He has worked as screenwriter, art designer in music videos, director and cinematographer in special features of film. In 1997, Wong won the Gold Award for the photography of First Love and Other Pains at the 6th The Hong Kong Independent Short Film & Video Awards. In 2003 he co-directed together with Kung-Lok Lee the full-length film Fu Bo and in 2004 partecipated in competition at the Torino Film Festival with Jiang hu - Left Hand.
