Foku - Dirty Fire

Country: Italy
Year: 2005
Duration: 18

Foku is an attempt to tell the story of 4 boys and their job at the former Falk steelworks. Jon, Titti, Miki and Sandu are just some of the many people that have lived in abandoned old factory sheds in the last few years. They would win copper and try to defend themselves from dangers. Pictures of the Falk factory and its past times live again through the eyes of the keeper, who recalls memories of his past job, his father's and a lot of friends and colleagues.

"A huge abandoned area, a group of blocks and factory sheds is all that's left of one of the major iron and steel works in Europe, up to some decades ago. That area now represents a shelter, a home and a job for people living in hardship. They lead invisible lives, far from what people can conceive, over the boundary wall […]. We believe we can bear witness to these different stories and rescue them from oblivion, while the area is on the point of being pulled down to become a huge multifunctional building." (C. Bozzatello)
