There is a place in Turin in the North of Italy, where representatives of the world of workers from the societies most hit by the process of globalisation, meet and discuss the problems. It is the International Centre of the OIL (international labour organisation). Every year around 600 unionists come to Turin to follow training courses. 40% are women. Awa from Senegal, Rita from Brazil and Catherine from Malaysia come to Turin to study the problems and the challenges that globalisation makes for the world of labour, and particularly the countries of the so called Southern Hemisphere.

"Manooré, in the Woolof language, means 'your great ability.' Awa, Rita and Catherine, the 3 leading characters of this film, are union representatives. Women, who have always been erroneously considered the weak link of the economic and social chain, fight, organize themselves, make coalitions and come from every latitude of the planet. They fight for workers' rights, for women and men, rights which today more than ever, in the time of globalization, are denied." (D. Menozzi)
