In a rural Cuban maternity clinic some women are giving birth. The doctors and orderlies bustle around, with no regard for their patients, whom they see as being the main obstacle to smoothly managed childbirth. The encounter between the two perspectives is violent. Yet, despite this antagonism the two sides unite to accomplish
what has brought them together: bringing into the world a little man.

“The issue of the maternity always fascinated me, and I was sure I had to do something about pregnant women. At the beginning I thought of an experimental-poetic video, with lots of slow-motion shots of big bellies in a soft light, or something like that. Luckily, at some point I decided to visit the local hospital, and my view on the film changed completely.”
