Charlie Bartlett

Charlie Bartlett

Country: USA
Year: 2007
Duration: 96'

Charlie Bartlett is a rich and intelligent student, but neurotic and often unhappy, who is forced to go to a public school after having been kicked out for the umpteenth time from a private high school. He is initially hated by his classmates, but he later becomes popular when, thanks to his neurosis, he becomes the confidant of most of the kids in the school, from the outcasts to the popular ones. As he becomes a sort of spiritual guru, he starts taking advantage of this gift of him.

“I’d read a hundred scripts in the last year, just waiting to find one I really liked, and this was it. I laughed out loud as well as felt challenged, entertained, surprised and moved. Here was a high school movie about real people and real issues with lots of humor as well as pathos. Charlie Bartlett was such a great character, someone who could overcome nearly anything with his guileless optimism, and that was really appealing.”
