Cocó y Nicó is a game explaining what cinema can achieve with its technical defects: dirt, skips and irregularities in the images can be put in relation with a character, creating a little story.”

Biography

Alejandro Cantú

(Mexico City, 1969) studied visual arts at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas, photography at the Escuela Activa de Fotografía and film at the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos. He won the Young Creators grant from the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes with the short Película perdida y encontrada, and the Z Films award at the third Mexican Short Film Day. He directed three episodes of the series “Cuentos para solitarios.” Since 1997, he has specialized in cinematography, working on music videos, commercials, television and many Mexican films.
