Nikolai Sergelevich is believed to be a descendent of a line of shamans. He’s a Siberian shepherd who uses his particular talents, like being able to talk to the animals, to resolve all kinds of problems. He is asked to help the inhabitants of a small village who are at odds with a pack of wolves that not only hunt their reindeer, the main source of income for the local shepherds, but also kill them and suck all their blood.

“This documentary-feature film is based on real life events and takes place in a little-known region of Russia. The ancient land of the disappearing Mansi people holds one of the largest deposits of raw materials in the world. A significant portion of Europe’s natural gas consumption originates from this region. Rich oil deposits, gold, diamond, coal and nearly all kinds of raw materials can be found here. In the smaller, more remote villages nothing of this can be seen, nevertheless the portents point in the direction of major changes to come.”
