Maggie, a fifty-year-old widow, desperately needs to find the money to pay for the expensive operation her sick grandson needs. While walking in the streets of London, she notices a job vacancy for a hostess, and, without realizing it, she finds herself in a sex club. After setting her straight that the word “hostess” is just a euphemism, Miki, the club’s owner, tells her that her delicate hands would be perfect for a job he had in mind…

“A sex club probably isn’t the best place to fall in love, but I liked the idea that the film’s main characters would fall in love right there: a place where no one would imagine it possible. Working with Marianne was an extraordinary experience. She isn’t the classical professional actress, she’s a real artist. And right from the very beginning she let me transform her into the Maggie I had in mind. Even when she didn’t like a line or an idea I had regarding a scene, she would still interpret it following my directions: she was very professional and, at the same time, a great artist.”
