Lino is only two years old but he already knows lots of things: he knows how to climb out of his crib very quickly, how to open and close a bottle of perfume, he also knows that camembert is delicious, that he mustn’t disturb Daddy when he’s doing the Sudoku puzzle and that he mustn’t play with guns. But there’s one thing he doesn’t know: why Daddy doesn’t want to be called “Daddy” anymore.

“When I got back from my vacation I called Jérôme Peyrebrune, my main cameraman, and I told him, ‘I’m going to shoot a film next week in your apartment […], but no money, all right?’ How could he refuse an offer like that? So the next week we shot, with one day’s rehearsal, him, my son and me, in his apartment. Two hours to see how Lino would react to the sight of the invasive presence of a movie camera […], how I’d react in front of the image of myself during the editing phase […] and if my story, like a taut string about to snap, would hold up to the shock of being told.”
