Luis is a young investigator working on his first case: inquiring into the death of a prostitute. The suspect is Father Fernando, but he is cleared from charges when the prostitute’s body is once again found, hung and dressed as a nun. Shortly thereafter the clergyman is found dead, while the prostitute reappears and is considered the only person under investigation. The case gets more and more complicated and Luis asks for advice from his wise mentor, a former advisor of the homicide investigation unit. Once the inquiry seems to be over, all the characters find themselves in court, where a strange judge pronounces the final ruling. “The paradoxical series of events and their incoherent concatenation aren’t simply meant to be provocative, they also tend to add a dreamlike atmosphere that crosses over to the canons of the noir genre, from which I drew my inspiration. […] The idea at the base of the film is in a manifest hailing to a type of cinema distant from the superficiality of some glossy commercial films that, at times, lack any artistic value or substance.”

Mauro Paglialonga
Mauro Paglialonga (Ravenna, Italy, 1982) graduated from the Dams in Bologna and then studied audiovisual language at the University of Valencia, plastic and scenic arts at the Academia superior de artes de Bogotà (Colombia) and attended a course on video digital manipulation at the Escuela internacional de cine y television of San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba. Since 2000, he has created several projects, among which music videos, trailers, video art and short films. His first encounter with staging happened thanks to the theatre company Teatro delle albe in Ravenna. He currently lives in Berlin where runs a laboratory for development and editing of 16mm and Super8 film.
