Track shots in the hallways of a hotel blend into a mosaic of colours
through the fragmentation of the screen.
“One hundred thirty-six years ago, in early 1872, Arthur Rimbaud
wrote: ‘A black, E white, I red, U green, O blue: vowels.’ By trying
to understand how five hallways that are identical but of different
colours can become cinema, one automatically thinks of writing.
And in fact, it’s useless, if not impossible, to read two lines of a text
at the same time, just like it’s hard and not very useful to try to look
at two sequences at the same time. Unless they become painting.”
