Like every year Dormida goes to visit her father’s tomb, she always
brings him white flowers. This time, a series of unexpected experiences
will make her deal with her deepest feelings and her fears.
“After my father died, in 2000, I had a dream about him: I was in
the cemetery and a little boy gave me a bulk as I opened it I found my
childhood imagery inside. When I woke up I wrote it in a little notebook
and made some drawings. I remembered a documentary about
the rituals that popular people in my city used to do. In order to mix
individual and social ways to face death I decided to introduce some
excerpts of it. I found in the animation the best way to make this
dream come true, fortunately I had a good crew that helped me
develop this short dream.”

Cecilia Traslaviña
Cecilia Traslaviña (Bogota, Colombia, 1960) works at the Javeriana University since 2000 in the Visual Art’s department, as animation teacher, as director of undergraduate works on animation and as coordinator of Experimental Animation course. She has worked as a jury in some local short film festivals.
