Country: Spain
Year: 2007
Duration: 24'

Frank and Ava are a married couple who live in the country. He is
a logger and she works in a store. Their tranquillity is shaken when,
at a rodeo, Ava falls in love with one of the participants. When their
love affair is discovered by Frank, it leads to a tragic end. The story
calls to mind the love triangle involving the famous torero Luis Miguel
Dominguín and two Hollywood stars, Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra.

“The movie is an animated chain of linked stories, driven by human
dreams and fantasies, romance and machismo. The film begins with
Chainsaw: Working Safe #17, a fictional 80s-style instructional film
about the safe use of chainsaws. Some stories are real, quoted directly
from news reports, some are 1950s newsreels, some are fictional,
though based on fact. Then there are the animal stories: these animals
are part of the human world, but they also inhabit a parallel world
without human feelings, sentimentality, or romanticism – the natural
world that endures.”
