house in one month, the length of time
allowed by their visas. They work and they
live in inhumane conditions. Only one
of them (an unpredictable Jeremy Irons)
speaks English and he comes up with
a way to survive when they run out
of money. Exploitation, tiredness,
homesickness: Skolimowski’s viewpoint
is extremely humane and often ironic.
