MY BEAUTIFUL LAUNDRETTE

Country: UK
Year: 1985
Duration: 97'

Omar is the child of a Pakistani family
which finds him a job to shake him out
of his stupor: he has to relaunch the
crumbling business of a laundrette.
Johnny (Daniel Day-Lewis) is an old friend
and lover, who saves him from a racist
aggression. Written by Hanif Kureishi
and directed by Stephen Frears, this is
a portrait of the Pakistani community
and the poisonous atmosphere of the UK
