IN BLOOM
The last light of the day. In a house at the edge of a forest, a boy
named Saïdjah is playing in his room, creating a miniature forest.
The inhabitants of the forest are little wooden and plastic figures.
A mysterious voice talks to the boy and all of a sudden Saïdjah finds
himself in the imaginary, timeless forest with which he had been
playing just a short time earlier. Fantasy becomes reality and the
boy starts wandering among the trees and animals.

In Bloom isn’t just a film about the relationship between a child and
the power of his imagination. It is also a reflection on that imaginary
safety zone offered by every artistic creation. Just like the child extends
the reality of his room and his toys into an intimate and unreal
dimension that totally absorbs him, the artist and art lovers are carried
away by the suspended space of art. The film is a paean to wandering
and losing oneself in these places… the only places in which we can
freely enjoy a mysterious and invisible happiness, that is perhaps hidden
in the pure pleasure of its exploration.”
