MADE IN HUNGARIA
In the spring of 1963, adolescent Miki and his parents return to Budapest after having lived in America for four years. His initial impact with his native city is not easy: his old friends have changed, his first love has a new boyfriend and his father is unemployed. But Miki has a passion for music; he dreams of becoming the next Jerry Lee Lewis and this is his chance to put his talent to the test and bring rock and roll to sleepy Hungary.

“I believe that this story applies equally to teenagers and the generation of their parents. Rock is always a rebellion against something and the Budapest of the Sixties provides a sharply contrasted historical backdrop. Miki and his mates have to come to grips with the fundamental issues of love, friendship, struggle and surrender, treachery and solidarity, armed with only rock and roll in opposition to the communist dictatorship.”
