MY OWN PRIVATE LIBRARY
Petra is travelling to Toronto, her last phone call before she left lingers
in her thoughts. She can’t help thinking back to various painful
memories, to hopes that never came true; she is disturbed by negative
feelings that seem to compromise the weeks ahead. A quotation from
a book pops into her head, letting her memories flow freely.

“Inspired by a quotation by the writer Haruki Murakami and the fact
that I’ve been in Toronto three times already, I decided to make a film
about memories, so I created a story line which comes partly from my
own experience. The visual idea of this film comes from a photographic
background or point of view I wanted to follow. Strictly no camera
moving, but filming the movements within one frame. With the sound
I was hoping to create a story behind the text, to support the text and
the picture itself.”
