THE DIRTY ONES
Two teenage sisters, Kitty and Teeny, are from the Mennonite religious
sect that restrains from influences of contemporary society. Along the
way, the sisters become stranded in an unfamiliar place seeking food
and a place to stay overnight. As the sisters discover the new world
through anonymous urban places (motorways, fast food restaurants,
motels), the secret behind their journey is revealed.

“The film is loosely based on the feature length script, Cassiopeia,
written a couple of years ago, about two Mennonite sisters who are
stranded in an unfamiliar city at night trying to make sense of the
modern world, leaving the body of their dead grandmother behind
in their abandoned truck-bed. I wanted to show a glimpse into our
consumerist, vacant society as through the eyes of aliens, which are
the Mennonite sisters. While, at the same time, the sisters have
to deal with their own primitive, unconventional mores.”
