WALLS AND BORDERS “There were three reasons that convinced us to make this huge project:
Twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, eighty-three directors
describe the geographical, physical and mental walls that make up
the societies we live in. These seventy brief episodes are a kaleidoscope
of different points of view and expressive formats: documentary, fiction,
video art and animation.
the first is that all the directors worked for free and the profits from
the film will help support International Help Onlus, a humanitarian
association that for years has been active in the poorest corners of
the world. The second is the awareness that, in a moment of ethical,
economic and social crisis like the one we are now experiencing,
it is important that even people who work with images must make
a stand and confront the state of things. The third reason, the most
important, is the stubborn desire to dedicate this work to Armando
Ceste, the director, the companion and the friend with whom we had
