bus palladium Paris, the 1980s. Lucas, Manu, Philippe, Jacob and Mario are childhood friends. They are talented musicians and dream of making a name for themselves in the world of music; they pass their evenings at the Bus Palladium. When their band, Lust, starts to become successful they find themselves having to come to terms with the aspirations and needs of the single members, which threatens the solidity of the band. When Laura arrives, she, too, weakens the delicate balance of the group. “I think that it’s very complicated to talk about the world of music in a film. To show how you have to work as a group until you achieve the pleasure of playing together live in front of an audience. This was the true challenge of the mise-en-scène and not just part of the screenplay. The desire to make music comes from the wish to lay bare your dreams and the film shows this passage from the dream that destiny is something which is eternally shared to the realization that, instead, it is an individual path you must walk.”
