in your hands Anna is a gynecologist who lives alone in a large house. She was gone for a while but this doesn’t seem to bother the people who knew she was on vacation, such as her mother and a few colleagues, who nonetheless think she seems a bit strange. In fact, Anna is distraught, she can’t concentrate, she can’t sleep, she leaves the hospital halfway through her shift. She goes to the police and reports that she had been kidnapped by a man. The captivity, her fear, the violence and, at the same time, her unexpected comprehension, the perturbation caused by their forced proximity. The woman has trouble accepting this experience which has changed her forever. “After my first film Et toi, t’es sur qui ? which focused on sexual and sentimental awakening amongst adolescents, I wanted to make a story about love between adults. These last few years I was touched by the many incidences of hostage-taking in the news (in Columbia, Iraq, Germany…). I tried to imagine what the relationship between the victims and the kidnappers would be like, especially if the victim was female. I wanted to explore this forced relationship and the emotional bond that could develop.”

Lola Doillon
Lola Doillon (France, 1975) began working in film in 1991, carrying various functions such as assistant cameraman, assistant film editor, set photographer and casting director. She was also assistant director to Cédric Klapisch on the set of Pot Luck (2002). She has made several shorts, including Majorettes (2005), which was selected for the Quinzaine des réalisateurs. Her first feature film, Et toi t’es sur qui? (2007) was presented at Cannes in the section Un certain regard and was nominated for a César as best French debut of the year.
