the sun La Checo and Once are two difficult adolescents who live in Buenos Aires. After an atomic war breaks out, the world is reduced to ashes and radical social changes have taken place in the metropolis. But nothing has changed for the two young people, who are used to an existence without any certainties, and in fact, the new, post-atomic world might even prove to be a bit more comfortable then the previous one. “It occurred to me when I was finishing the story of Mercano the Martian, originally El sol would be a comic. I had wanted to address issues that had to do with the post apocalyptic future. I had done some illustrations and written a couple of ideas that I developed during the coming years. For a while I stopped working on this until I joined a friend, who brought me back the wills to develop the idea, this time as an animated film. Originally it was going to be a serious film without humor, but this was gradually changing as we were developing the characters and situations.”
