the mosquito net

Guilty feelings dominate the life of a well-off family: feelings which each member of the family has about those around them and which they are unable to control. Each one thus generates a network of misunderstandings which prove hard to escape, as they try to control things that inevitably turn into situations that are both comical and tragic. The father starts a clumsy relationship with the young cleaning lady and the mother pours her insecurity onto her adolescent son, who discovers the ambiguous nature of adulthood in this co-existence of guilt and innocence. In this vortex of daily dramas, nothing seems to disturb the dogs and the cats that populate the house.

The Mosquito Net should be a film in minor key, as the title suggests. The characters in the movie think that the only thing they must fear are mosquitoes. They think that putting limits to the elusiveness of life will help them find felicity. But this felicity is static. And static waters rot. And mosquitoes can turn into wolves.”
