Frame Johnson and three companions arrive in Tombstone, a violent city that is controlled by the Northrup brothers’ gang. He reluctantly agrees to become sheriff and, after many clashes, he challenges the Northrups at the OK Corral. Based on a novel by W.R. Burnett, this is one of the first film versions of the famous shootout between the Earps and the Clantons. John Huston wrote the film adaptation and the dialog. The film stars his father Walter.
