it’s your fault Sunday evening, Julieta has to finish a job and her ex-husband hasn’t shown up to take care of their children Valentín and Teo, like he was supposed to. The children are wrestling in the bedroom, time passes and the game becomes increasingly rough. Suddenly someone screams: it’s not clear how, but Teo has gotten hurt and has to be taken to the hospital. At the emergency room, the disturbing suspicion arises that maybe it wasn’t a simple domestic accident and that maybe the mother was somehow responsible for what happened. “Por tu culpa was inspired by a story I heard one weekend with friends. Through the character in this story, I dared to imagine maternity as something far from the idealized concept of the maternal instinct. I decided to shorten the timeframe of the story to just one night to increase the tension until it became a domestic thriller. What interested me was studying the dark side of my generation: parents without any time, individualists, obsessed by psychoanalysis and consumerism.”
