this movie is broken To Bruno, Caroline is more than just a friend and when one summer morning he wakes up with her at his side he feels as though a dream has come true. But the next day the girl has to leave for France and that night they spent together might have just been her way to say goodbye to her friend forever. It is Bruno’s last chance to win her heart and destiny seems to be on his side: that evening Caroline’s favorite band, Broken Social Scene, is going to be playing in Toronto. He only has a few hours to find tickets to the concert and make their last night an unforgettable one. “Broken Social Scene has been my favorite band since I discovered You Forgot it in People in Soundscapes record store. The music inspired a love story that I have been longing to tell. I paired up with Don McKellar and a movie was born. Throw in a hot summer day, a love triangle, a tiny perfect drama and we hope to have a sweet thing of a movie. A concert movie/love story experienced by people like us – the fans of both film and music.”

Bruce McDonald
Bruce McDonald (Kingston, Canada, 1959) graduated in film from Ryerson University. In 1985 he shot the 16mm feature film Knock! Knock!, which was presented at the 4th Festival Cinema Giovani in Torino. In 1989 he won the prize for best Canadian film at the Toronto Film Festival with the movie Roadkill, the first chapter of his trilogy dedicated to rock’n’roll, followed by Highway 61 (1991), which won Best Director at the Festival in San Sebastián, and the mockumentary Hard Core Logo (1997), Best Canadian Film at the Festival in Vancouver. He participated several times to the Torino Film Festival over the years, presenting movies like Pontypool (2009), This Movie Is Broken (2010), and The Husband (2013).
