vampires

A Belgian TV channel is contacted by a community of vampires who are bored with their immortality. They would like to make a reportage on their condition. After a couple of failed attempts that end up cosing the life of the journalists who were sent out, a troupe finally manages to enter into the daily life of a vampire family composed of the parents, Georges and Bertha Saint-Germain, and their two children: Samson, who is a lazy dolt, and Grace, who is in the throes of endless adolescent crises.

Vampires is a political comedy, a satire on humanity, in which appearances and reality are in constant opposition. After all, laughter is a pleasant, almost subconscious, way to questions ourselves. One of the strong points of genre cinema is its ability to evoke our anxieties and demons without a true awareness that we are learning anything from it. In Vampires, this combination of three genres – documentary, B movie and comedy – creates room for entertainment but also offers a critical look at our contradictions and our guilt.”
