wasted on the young

Zack and his step-brother Darren couldn’t be more different: the first is charismatic and popular, while the second is maladjusted and a technology geek. Darren’s only salvation from marginalization is the swim team at the elite school where both boys study. The one thing they seem to have in common is their interest in Xandrie, a cultured girl who is completely indifferent to the hipster fashion of her peers. Her apparent death at a party organized by Zack will upset the social hierarchy at the high school and the life of the two brothers.

“High school is a microcosm. It’s this weird Petri dish where all these bacterial colonies gather and fight for survival that couldn’t possibly survive or exist anywhere else. The student society just doesn’t work like any other part of the society that the school is meant to be preparing kids for. It does my head in... I remember thinking when I was in school that we were sort of being shielded from reality rather than inducted into it.”
