Carlo Goldoni’s Trilogia della villeggiatura, directed and interpreted by Toni Servillo, has traveled to Berlin, Moscow, Paris, Madrid, Istanbul and New York during its four year international tour. This movie tells the story of theater, the backstage, the rehearsals, but also the every day life, outside the theaters, exploring different cities and cultures, living the private life of the actors with their troubles and achievements. Just like in real life, the show must go on and the story builds up the life of the actors and their characters on stage. “I’ve gathered all this material, over one hundred hours of film, traveling around the world with one of the greatest actors still in life. After pondered editing, we finally synthesized a significant and memorable story of life and art. There are no direct interviews interrupting the story happening before the camera: the audience must feel the characters, not watch a documentary. The result is an intense testimony, light and ironic, on the value of art and theater during economical and cultural crisis.”

Massimiliano Pacifico
Massimiliano Pacifico graduated in Film and TV studies at the London University of Surrey, in 2001. He worked with many directors like Paolo Sorrentino, Pippo Delbono, Antonio Capuano, Maurizio Fiume, Vincenzo Marra, Susanne Bier e Olivier Assayas in Naples, his hometown where he lives and works. He filmed a series of shorts on Mimmo Paladino’s work, for whom he also edited Quiijote, presented to the Venice Film Festival in 2006. The same year he directed, together with Diego Liguori, Cricket Cup, documentary on the Sri Lankan community in Naples, broadcast on Bbc World. In 2010, in collaboration with other twenty three directors from Naples, he made Napoli 24, presented in the 28th edition of the Torino Film Festival
