Flo has just lost his job and spends the summer wandering aimlessly around Albuquerque with his best friend, Trey. The two spend their time thinking up plans for making some easy money. But after Trey gets Flo involved in a car theft, he can’t help feeling sorry for the owner of the stolen car, charming Marisa. He falls in love with Marisa and thus finds himself in a difficult situation: whether he should betray Flo’s faith in him or follow this new sentiment. “Like everyone on screen in Bad Posture, I grew up in Albuquerque. My mom didn’t let me watch tv or movies very often, but the ones I did see generally took place far away from New Mexico. Recently, due to tax credits, Hollywood has come to town, but I still haven’t seen a film that is true to Albuquerque as I remember it. My main goal in making bad posture was to create something that actually captures New Mexico.”

Malcolm Murray
Malcom Murray (USA, 1984) started making films when he was fifteen and professional skateboarders hired him to film their tricks. After his graduation, he received the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship grant, which let him live and work in various countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, France, Italy and Laos, where he shot his first feature-length documentary, Camera, Camera, which received an award at the 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival. He has worked as a director of photography and has directed numerous commercials – which have won various prizes at festivals such as the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity – for companies like Toyota, Microsoft, Patagonia, Ralph Lauren, eBay, EA Sports, Microsoft and Stella Artois. Bad Posture is his first feature-length fiction film.
