Bob and Louise Gorski’s next-door neighbor is a boy named Neil Armstrong. On July 20, 1969, the now grown-up Neil becomes the first man to set foot on the Moon. After saying the famous sentence, “That’s one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind,” he adds, “Good luck, Mr Gorski.” Who was Mr Gorski? The mystery remained unresolved for twenty-five years but starting that moment, Mr Gorski took control of his life, saved his marriage and found happiness once again. “I took my inspiration from the great Sydney Pollack. Pollack, like me, trained as an actor before he came to directing. His approach always started with acting’s holy trinity: action, objective and obstacle. Having no formal directing experience, excited to experiment, and knowing that my producers would nudge me gently if I blundered too far off the trail, I broke down the script from an actor’s standpoint. From this detailed analysis, a visual style, a rhythm, and a physical world began to take form and I’m very proud of what we all have made.”

Arron Shiver
Arron Shiver (Baton Rouge, LA, USA) studied acting at California Institute of the Arts, and has worked with directors including Ron Howard, Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu, Niki Caro, Paul Haggis, Jim Sheridan, and Tommy Lee Jones. He recently appeared in George Clooney?s Men Who Stare at Goats (2009) and the Hughes Brothers? The Book of Eli, and on stage at LA’s Mark Taper Forum in Tennessee Williams’s The Glass Menagerie. He is also the author of the feature screenplay Mustang, currently under option to Whitewater Films.
