Astutillo Smeriglia works in animation and editing. His short films have received awards in many festivals. He won the award Nastro d’argento for best short animation in 2011 and 2012 for Il pianeta perfetto and Training Autogeno, respectively. In 2013, Preti was nominated for the David di Donatello Award for best short.
