ISACCO

ISAAC
by Federico Tocchella
Country: Italy
Year: 2013
Duration: 15'

A child is playing in the park with some clay figures that he molds and animates with his hands. He makes up stories using them as his protagonists. His favorite puppet is called Isaac: he is a little boy just like him, who dreams, makes wishes, and trusts the world. Isaac is happy because he has to go to the mountains to help his father, who is called Abraham. As it turns out, the story enacted by the child is the sacrifice of Isaac. But, after having gotten to know Isaac, what effect will the story have?

Declaration

film director

“Isaac is a short film that merges together observational cinema, animation, and the special effects of claymation, using clay as the expressive medium to represent the deepest emotions of real characters.
