The situation at home isn’t easy for Lupu: his father is dead and his mother has a new partner. The boy has a hard time accepting this new presence in his life, but he struggles especially in accepting the death of his father: sometimes the memory of him is so vivid that he seems to come back to life. Lupu seeks a glimmer of happiness with Clara, but she is already in other relationships and isn’t interested in him. Lupu finds himself trapped as usual in a network of relationships that lack in reciprocity and expressions of true affection.

Declaration

film director

“In the beginning the story was about a boy and an old man; then it started to change, I added the father and the girl, and from there on I built the entire movie. We made several versions in the editing phase: our goal was to make the viewers see the film through their own imagination, stimulating them to ask questions about its contradictions. We thought a lot about where we wanted to place the spectator, and in the end we put him right in the middle of all those ambiguous elements.”
