A TV cameraman goes to Chicago to cover the 1968 Democratic convention and meets a single woman and her child. He falls in love with her and his viewpoint changes, from objective to involved. A tangle of fiction and real events (the clashes between the police and the young demonstrators are real) and an angry accusation, written and directed by a great director of photography (a two-time Oscar winner), who was subsequently investigated by the FBI.
