A large colonial house in a subtropical landscape. A group of six twenty-year olds returns to the place where their friend Miguel spent his last few days before committing suicide. They want to box his things up and collect everything their friend left behind: audio disks still connected to the speakers, cables on the floor, clothes and objects scattered here and there. Miguel obsessively recorded the sounds of nature and his lonely conversations. Now those recordings echo everywhere, inside the house and outside, through speakers that muddle the fields of perception, between a before and after, between night and day, and between life and death.

Leonardo Brzezicki
Leonardo Brzezicki (Argentina, 1978) studied Film at the University of Buenos Aires, and trained as an actor with theatre director Ricardo Bartis. He has directed several short films: with You Counting Lambs (2002), a comedy, won first prize at the Latin American Short Film Festival in Rosario. He was pre-selected for Le Pavillion, the artist’s residence at Palais de Tokyo in Paris, with his short Tokyo Night (2005). As an actor he has appeared in several independent productions, for example in Unmade Beds (2009) by Alexis Dos Santos. Night is his first feature film.

“I think I wanted to make a very internal film, to look into the sensual and physical aspects rather than the psychological, in which senses become the most important element, where the narrative structure favours poetic associations rather than straightforward storytelling. I wanted to get into a rarified journey, subjective and ambiguous, which cannot admit single interpretations.”
