Jeorge is a knife-sharpener. Despite being old and retired, he still keeps on working. Even health is not on his side, but this doesn’t seem to stop him. He drives down the streets with his motorcycle loaded with the trade’s tools day in and day out. Along the way he meets people he has known for years; he relives the past with them and looks concerned at the future, which seems to want to erase them.

Miguel Moraes Cabral
Miguel Moraes Cabral (1984) studied cinema at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School, where he graduated in 2008; he studied abroad in Paris at the Université de Nanterre and at the École Supérieure Louis-Lumière. He now works as a sound designer, specialized in audio recording and postproduction. In 2010 he was part of the selection committee of the film festival Indielisbona, where he was in charge of the short film section. He is currently developing the screenplay for his first fictional film, which will take place in Northern Portugal. Os Caminhos de Jorge is his debut feature.
