From August 15-18, 1969, over 400,000 young people gathered north of New York to celebrate three days of peace, music (rock) and love (free). Rain, mud, weed, LSD, Army helicopters, fans, and thirty-two rock bands. Plus Michael Wadleigh and his assistant Martin Scorsese, who filmed, cut, spliced and edited. The manifesto of the hippie culture (which was already on the wane). With all the legends of rock music, concluding with Jimi Hendrix and his solo rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner.
