Wladyslaw Pasikowski
Wladyslaw Pasikowski (Lodz, Poland, 1959), director and screenwriter, debuted in 1991 with the feature-length action movie Kroll, which brought him to the attention of international festivals. He next directed Psy (1992), Psy 2: Ostatnia krew (1994), Slodko gorzki (1996), Demony wojny wedlg Goi (1998), Operacja Samum (1999), Reich (2011), and Poklosie (2012), specializing in criminal and historical dramas and making a name for himself as one of Poland’s most commercially successful directors. Between 2003 and 2004 he directed the TV series Glina and Glina 2. A science fiction author, in 1993 he published the novel I, Gelerth.

“The producers worked on the script for many years. I joined them at a later stage and could make use of their yearlong research. At my disposal I had copies of documents and interviews with people like former CIA officer David Forden, who directly ‘led’ the colonel as the most valuable contact in the Soviet sphere […]. Work on the first record lasted for a couple of years, and under the watchful eye of producer Sylwia Wilkos, I wrote my version for some nine months, just like it is with kids... I was being cheered by the colonel’s wife, who unfortunately died before the first screening.”
