Country: USA
Year: 1975
Duration: 124'

The 4th of July at Amity, a lovely East Coast beach which makes money hand over fist in that period. But a great white shark is lurking in ambush. The catastrophic masterpiece by Spielberg, who combines Melville’s theme (Moby Dick and the battle against an implacable creature) with the spreading anguish and lack of confidence in the honesty of politicians and the institutions. Roy Scheider is endearing, Richard Dreyfuss is petulant, and Robert Shaw is blasphemous as the three hunt down the monster. Seaside tension, with the inspired music by John Williams.
