Declaration

film director

“The anniversary of the referendum on divorce, of the voting campaign, and of the important civil struggle of those years, gave me the opportunity to make a movie that talks about love, or rather, about how and why people begin to live together as a couple, and how this shared life comes to an end at a certain point. I also wanted to show how distant, and yet also now near, the Italy of 1974 is. Above all, I wanted to understand if the meaning of matrimony (and of divorce) has changed over the years: I asked myself if the decision to form a couple is based on a natural instinct or if it is only a social phenomenon. I don’t know if I found the answer, the movie talks about my investigation.”
