THE BIG CHILL

THE BIG CHILL
by LAWRENCE KASDAN
Country: USA
Year: 1983
Duration: 105'

A group of friends who had gone to college together in the 1960s gets together in South Carolina for the funeral of a friend who committed suicide. During the weekend, they share memories, hopes and disappointments, and old flames rekindle. The second movie by Kasdan, a glam version of Sayles’ Secaucus Seven (which Kasdan was unacquainted with), takes the pulse of the time, the regrets, the bitter cheerfulness. A stellar cast (Close, Kline, Goldblum, Hurt), including the dead friend (who was cut in the editing) Kevin Costner, and a knockout soundtrack.
