WELCOME TO L.A.

WELCOME TO L.A.
by ALAN RUDOLPH
Country: USA
Year: 1976
Duration: 106'

Carroll Barber, a singer-songwriter who moved to England after fighting with his wealthy father, returns to Los Angeles to record an LP. Carroll is also a die-hard seducer and, at loose ends, he gets into old and new relationships. A mosaic of a movie, which owes a lot to Altman (Rudolph was his assistant director), imbued with solitude and starring Keith Carradine, it paints a desolate portrait of L.A., a city lacking a center and any possibility for relationships and roots.
