Written and directed by Katsuhiro Ôtomo and based on his homonymous manga, ten Japanese production companies collaborated on the film, which popularized anime in the West. Overwhelming, fascinating and sumptuous, Christopher Nolan is said to be working on a live remake of this cult movie.
