BLADE RUNNER THE FINAL CUT

by Ridley Scott
Country: USA, Hong Kong, UK
Year: 2007
Duration: 117'

It rains all the time in Los Angeles in 2019 and the teeming streets are filled with races, languages, food, humans and replicants. Inspired by Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Dick, the movie that changed the face of sci-fi is a noir web in which equally desperate humans and non-humans struggle. Architecturally prescient, melancholy and pessimistic, it is a perfect combination of elements: Vangelis’ soundtrack, Trumbull’s effects, the clash between the defeated titans Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer. In two versions: the original one, with the heart-wrenching voice off, and the director’s cut, with the darker finale.
