It’s the night of Halloween, but the teenager Dora does not feel like going out for the usual celebrations. But from that moment on, Dora’s night turns into a bloody nightmare, and she will try everything to escape it alive.

Declaration

film director

“I’ve always loved Halloween, it was my first introduction to theatre and cinema. On Halloween you could dress up, play, be someone else. It’s a really cool, subversive holiday – there’s a kind of anarchy in it. The kids get to stay out late and rule the night. In Hellions we have a girl caught between the conflicted desires to stay a child or embrace her womanhood – it vibrates in that twilight zone between adulthood and childhood. These themes are immersed in all the atmosphere of Halloween and bathed in the glow of a blood moon. There was an amazing wealth of imagery for me to work with from the get-go.”
