Pedro Lino
Pedro Lino (Porto, Portugal, 1980) is a Portuguese filmmaker who moved to London. He studied art and design, then in 2004 he moved on to directing and producing films, making animated shorts for which he received several awards. In 2013 he was in charge of the video productions for the Angola pavilion, winner of the Golden Lion at the Biennale in Venice. His work has been exhibited and selected in galleries and exhibitions around the world, including among others the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the London Film Festival, and the Rio de Janeiro Short Film Festival.

“Gesuino Nocco has been living in the same place since 1966. By himself. One morning he opened up to our questions, answering with disarming sincerity, honesty, and sense of humor. From his life story I wanted to create a simple and direct portrait of Gesuino. Of a person who looks over his life without shame, accepting the mistakes, faults, and stops that destiny placed along his way. I tried to make a movie that could become a chance to reflect on the isolation and solitude of human existence and on the choices that affect our lives. We find ourselves in front of an authentic character with an honest and touching story and a few surprises.”
